Elec Toon Ridderhof, Gulf Hansa 1965

Hallo Jos,
Ja jij bent de "wep-meester" en "joe hit the nail on the hat" :-D
Keep on going!

Klik HIER.

ReutersSEOUL, April 2 (Reuters) – A South Korean cargo vessel is missing after making its last contact in the South Atlantic about 2,500 kilometers (1,500 miles) from shore and 22 crew members are unaccounted for, South Korea’s foreign ministry and news reports said on Sunday.

Two Filipino crew members have been rescued floating in a life raft on Saturday, but other lifeboats and rafts found in the area were empty, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported.

“A search operation is continuing for the 22 people,” a South Korean foreign ministry official in Seoul said by telephone, adding eight of the missing are South Korean nationals and 14 are Filipinos.

South Korea has requested Brazil and Uruguay to aid in the search and rescue, the official said asking not to be identified.

The very large ore carrier (VLOC) Stellar Daisy owned and operated by South Korea’s Polaris Shipping based in Busan was sailing from Brazil to China carrying iron ore when it sent a distress signal to the ship operator on Friday, Yonhap said.

A message last received on Friday by Polaris from a crew member said the ship was taking in water on the port side and was listing rapidly, Yonhap said. (Reporting by Jack Kim; Editing by Mary Milliken)

Dat zijn slechte berichten. Vermoeid gebroken?

Shell To Fuel World’s First LNG-powered Crude Oil Tankers

Shell Western LNG B.V. (Shell) has signed an agreement with Sovcomflot (SCF Group) to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to fuel the first Aframax crude oil tankers in the world to be powered by LNG.

The four Aframax tankers will operate in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe transporting crude oil and petroleum products. The ice-classed, dual-fuelled tankers are scheduled to come into operation beginning in the third quarter of 2018 and will be among the first LNG-fuelled vessels with variable and flexible routes.
More ship owners and operators are choosing LNG fuel over traditional marine fuels to respond to sulphur and nitrogen oxide emissions regulations, including the IMO’s recent decision to implement a global 0.5% sulphur cap in 2020.

This is an important next step for gas as part of the energy mix,” said Maarten Wetselaar, Integrated Gas and New Energies Director at Shell. “We are proud to work with SCF Group to make these LNG-fuelled Aframax crude oil tankers a reality. This is another marine segment embracing the benefits of LNG fuel, making it clear that LNG will play a key role in helping the shipping industry meet new emissions regulations.”

"SCF Group and Shell have an extensive and successful track record of collaboration and technical innovation, and at the heart of our joint aspirations is the shared desire to play a major role in delivering a cleaner and safer maritime environment. This is why SCF Group and Shell decided to pilot this breakthrough initiative to switch the principal fuel of Aframax tankers, the workhorse of the global tanker industry, to LNG," said Sergey Frank, President & CEO of Sovcomflot.

As part of this agreement, Shell will refuel the vessels from a specialised LNG bunker vessel that will load at the Gas Access to Europe (GATE) terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and a second supply point in the Baltics.

Norwegian Coastal Administration will build the world’s first ship tunnel

It is now formally stated that Stad Ship Tunnel is part of the Norwegian National Transport Plan (NTP) in the period of 2018 to 2029. This paves the way for the Norwegian Coastal Administration efforts to build the world's first full-scale ship tunnel.

In the NTP 2018-2029 the Stad ship tunnel has been granted funding in the first period of the plan (six years). Calculations performed in conjunction with the technical pilot project shows that the ship tunnel has an estimated cost of NOK 2.7 billion. Funding of NOK 1.5 billion is included in the first period of the NTP, 2018 to 2023.

“This is good news, and in line with NCA recommendations as part of the impact assessment. There are still many pieces of the puzzle that needs to be put into place before construction can start, but we have previously stated that the actual construction could be at the earliest in 2019”, says project manager for Stad ship tunnel at NCA, Terje Andreassen.

NCAs recommendations were made on the basis of monetized and non-monetized impacts.
The impact assessment and the technical pilot project is part of the pilot project that the NCA shall deliver to the Ministry of Transport and Communication in the spring of 2017. Further, the project will undergo an external quality assurance process (KS2) before the project is presented to the Parliament, who then formally decides on project funding. During a press conference in early March this year, consensus among a majority in Parliament for the realization of the world's first full-scale ship tunnel was presented.

After the news that the NCA will build the world's first full-scale ship tunnel was presented, there has been a lot of interest in this innovative project, both in Norway and from abroad.

“We experience great interest in the project, beyond that it is a project that will secure safe journeys and transportation of passengers and freight on the most exposed and dangerous part of the Norwegian coast. In recent weeks, we have shared film, photographs and interviews with journalists in the UK, the US, Germany, Poland, Brazil, Argentina and Australia. We expect the interest to become even greater when the actual construction begins”, says Andreassen.

STAD SHIP TUNNEL

The Stadhavet Sea is the most exposed, most dangerous area along the coast of Norway. The aim of this project is to allow ships to navigate more safely through Stad.
The Storting – Norwegian Parliament – has earmarked NOK 1 billion for this project in the final period of the National Transport Plan 2014-2023.

THE PROJECT

NCA will deliver a pilot project to the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the spring of 2017. Further, the project will undergo an external quality assurance process (KS2) before the project is presented to the Parliament, who then formally decides on project funding.
Quality assurance has been carried out (KS1 report), which was commissioned by the Ministry of Fisheries and the Ministry of Finance for KPU 2010.
Stad Ship Tunnel is part of the Norwegian National Transport Plan (NTP), with a limit equal to the costs – estimated at NOK 2.7 billion. NOK 1.5 billion is part of the NTP that runs from 2018 to 2023.
