De Scald is het ex-drogeladingschip Future Carrier, ex-RMS Kiel, in 2007 gebouwd bij Con Mar in Brake, Duitsland.
Omgebouwd bij Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht. Voor afmetingen etc. Zie Miramar of andere sites, bijvoorbeeld Shipspotting.

Van Oord awarded three-year maintenance contract in India
Van Oord has won a contract to keep the approach channel to the port of Kandla, India, up to depth for the next three years. The approach channel is a crucial gateway to the port of Kandla, which is one of the major ports in western India. The contract was awarded by the Client Kandla Port Trust (KPT). The dredging activities will commence in July 2017. Countries around the world are continuing to expand their ports and maintain their waterways due to the growth in maritime trade and the increasing size of vessels. The port of Kandla is strategically located in the north-west of India with good hinterland connections. Improving the accessibility of the port will contribute to international and local trade and facilitate economic growth in the region.

Van Oord has an extensive track record in India. ‘We are very happy to win this project after having successfully completed several other projects in the Kandla area. We are looking forward to being of service to our client again’, says Ton van der Burg, South West Asia Area Manager.

Trailing suction hopper dredgers Volvox Delta and Volvox Asia will be deployed to maintain the channel and berth approaches. During execution, Van Oord’s dredging activities will have a minimum impact on the busy maritime transport route. The dredged material will be deposited in a designated area at sea.

Vraag het de vierkante, Empel: booster. Merweland: profile zuiger, Kempen: cutter,Barneveld: cutter, dan was er nog een ark voor kantoor en accommodatie, en het "scheepje" een voormalige zand jakker, die als mast-bak gebruikt werd.
