We kwamen van de "Mobil P 6-A" om naar Schiphol Oost te gaan en pikten als combi flight enkele mensen op die ook die kant uit moesten.

Weer olieplatform ontploft in Golf van Mexico
(Novum/AP) - Opnieuw is in de Golf van Mexico een olieplatform ontploft. Het ongeval vond donderdag plaats ten westen van het olieplatform Deepwater Horizon, dat op 20 april ontplofte. Dat heeft de Amerikaanse kustwacht gezegd. Het is nog onduidelijk of er olie uit het brandende platform lekt.
Zeven helikopters, twee vliegtuigen en vier boten zijn onderweg naar het platform, ruim 130 kilometer voor de kust van de Amerikaanse staat Louisiana.
Volgens de kustwacht lagen alle dertien medewerkers van het platform in het water. Eén persoon zou gewond zijn, maar er zijn geen doden gevallen. Het platform is eigendom van Mariner Energy en was op het moment van de ontploffing niet productief.

The fire is now being “contained” by a vessel chartered by Mariner to douse the flames and two more fire-fighting vessels are en route in case they are needed, a Coast Guard spokesman told UpstreamOnline.
He said the oil sheen in the water is about a mile long and 100 feet wide and a Coast Guard chopper is monitoring its movement.
It has not been confirmed if the sheen came from the platform.
Coast Guard received reports around 9 am this morning of an installation on fire with 12 people in the water and one missing.
All 13 people were recovered from the water and all were wearing immersion suits.
The OSV Crystal Clear picked them up and took them to a nearby platform, according to a Coast Guard release.
All 13 workers rescued from the platform are onshore at the Terrebonne hospital.
A Coast Guard spokesman did not have further information about possible injuries.
The spokesman said the Coast Guard launched two helicopters from Houston and three from New Orleans to rescue survivors. Also, the cutter Decisive has been dispatched and three more cutters are on the way.
The lease owner is Mariner Energy, which was being bought out by US independent Apache.
The structure is a manned, fixed steel production platform piled to the seabed, which also serves as a junction point for numerous pipelines.
Water depth in the vicinity is around 340 feet.
Current production from the platform was about 9.2 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and 1400 barrels of oil and condensate, Mariner said in a release.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
Mariner has been drilling and producing on the Gulf of Mexico shelf for years and had marked candidates for further drilling including on Vermilion Block 380 prior to the merger announcement with Apache in April.
A Mariner representative could not be reached to confirm details.

Het is stil op dit forum. Wellicht tijd om op deze regenachtige dag weer eens in het archief te duiken en de scanner aan het werk te zetten.
Bijgaand wat informatie over het North Cormorant jacket dat in 1981 werd opgeleverd door UIE Cherbourg. Gebouwd voor Shell Expro UK. Het totale gewicht was 24,500 MT inclusief toevoegingen zoals drijftanks en heipalen.
