The Pearly Gate of Heaven
The Pearly Gate of Heaven
Maybe you have read it before, but I think it is still worthwhile.
A traveller knocked at the pearly gate.
His face was lined and old.
He stood before the man of fate,
For admission to the fold
What have you done, St. Peter asked,
To deserve admittance here.
A sailorman I've been he said,
For many and many a year.
The pearly gate swung open.
As St. Peter touched the bell,
Come in, he said and choose your harp.
YOU HAVE HAD YOUR SHARE OF HELL!
